Born in Philadelphia, I grew up in Cuba, Washington, D.C. and Pennsylvania. In my art, teaching and research, I have addressed the climate crisis, environment, Indigenous and women's issues in the U.S., Brazil, and Canada. My teaching includes The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Massachuseetts College of Art, University of British Columbia and Concordia University in Montreal.
With a background in painting and fibre arts, I currently focus on etching and woodcut with water-based and non-toxic inks and techniques. I enjoy working with other the printmakers dedicated to the use of nontoxic and environmental printmaking at two studios, Zea Mays (Northampton, MA) and L'imprimerie centre d'artistes (Montreal). I am also a member of the Southern Graphics Council International and the Monotype Guild of New England.
